quotation ~ 'The Italian'

"The solemnity of the scene accorded with the temper of his mind, and he listened in deep attention for the returning sounds, which broke upon his ear like dostant thunder muttering imperfectly from the clouds"

~Ahhh, English Literature! :-)

a grey thursday

Gosh, how loooong is this week?!
Feels like it's dragging on forever. My life is a little boring at the moment, especially as I have a test tomorrow, which I'm really not looking forward to.
Sometimes it just feels as though I've got so much to do and I get this massive pressure right behind my eyes. There's so much that it's hard to prioritise what I should do and end up doing nothing, which frustrates me more than having things to do. I like to think I'm organised, but I think perhaps I'm not. Or at least, I'm not good at getting my priorities straight... Must try harder.

NB: “By "guts" I mean, grace under pressure” (Ernest Hemingway)
let's make this my mantra: more grace, less moaning!

a reunion in Cardiff

yesterday we went to Cardiff to catch up after too long.. we had a massively complicated train journey there, but a lovely day when we arrived. It was as though we had never been apart! I think this is a good thing and a sign that we'll be friends for a long time (hopefully!).
Here are the three pictures taken with my camera... the one of me is dreadful! but oh well..I look happy enough with my cocktails!!

weddings...

What a lovely Friday I've had! We went to see Jen try on her wedding dress, which was just beautiful, she looked fabulous!
Then we did my favourite thing - afternoon tea!
Finally we went for a walk (well, hike up a hill!!) to the top of a hill overlooking Bath, just beautiful. What a lovely city I live in (or, at least, near to). I have to stop and remind myself not to take it for granted, but it was a lovely place to take in the view and sit in the glorious sunshine. Ahh English summers are lovely, bring on the spring!
I love spending time with my friends :)
