tim and me

I love my tim :)
we had a lovely weekend in Portsmouth :) the weather was perfect on saturday so we went for a wander to the sea front and it was lovely, sunny, warm, good view, love a stroll by the sea :) after we shared some nachos and had a (non-alcoholic!!) cocktail...yum all round!
anti-flag and rise against were really good!tim especially enjoyed a little mosh, hehe :)
So excited for our trip to america, although it's all getting a little complicated what with easter being right in the middle of it all!! we posted Lynn&John a little itinerary, I love our similar-ness when it comes to anal preparation and over-excitedness! :-) we planned our journey on a map and wrote it into a diary :-D
very funny!

no introduction needed :)

French women don't get fat. ?. (3)

Wednesday

-1 slice toast (eaten when I got in at 1)

-egg-mayo wrap with salad, small choc bar
-satsuma & grapes
-pasta (brown) with tomato sauce & roast veg
-too much chocolate (snacks for Brit Awards)

Devastated that Girls Aloud won an award over Cold Play, where's the logic or justice? to reward a group of pretty girls (this is all they are in my humble opinion - manufactured, pretty girls) where is the raw vocal talent needed to sound good??????
On the upside --- Iron Maiden won one for live music, excellent, wish they could have performed at the awards!

French women don't get fat. ?.

According to my book French Women Don't Get Fat, keeping a food diary is a good way to understand your eating habits...
Monday
- Grapes, 2 slices of (brown) toast with peanut butter
- Starbucks caramel coffee frappaccino (I think this counts as food - calorie count way high!)
- chicken, salad & cheese wrap, 5 hula-hoops (seriously couldn't manage more?!!), square flapjack, mini square of ginger bread
-toast (1 slice, white)
- apple, 2 chocolates (from selection box), another small square of ginger cake
- can of strongbow (again, think this counts as food because of calorie count!)

so far -- eating habits some what confused? If I manage to do this for a few more days, I think that it will be confirmed is that I have and erratic way of consuming food. Is this normal??!
what would be good is probably a gym session........?
After the food diary, her suggestion is a week of starvation, and only soup. No. Thanks - capital N, capital T!
also, must stop biting nails, it's disgusting and dirty, and ugly.
Ahh, there's nothing like loving yourself!

The curious case of Benjamin Button

A second Valentines!
I love, love, loved Benjamin Button; Pitt and Blanchett were extremely good and I really enjoyed the story: that of a child who is born as an old man and gradually ages backwards. I would like (when I have time...?) to read the F.Scott Fitzgerald novel.
Afterwards Tim took me to Mai Thai, which was delicious and finally we went for a night cap :) baileys, yum!

Valentines Day

VALENTINES DAY :)

Tim arrived on friday night to see me for Valentines ('._.') on Saturday he took me for lunch, we wandered around town and then he took me to the cinema to see a (very) girly film --He's just not that into you is funny and sad and deals with the challenges of reading (and mis-reading) human behaviour.
T spoiled me :) it was lovely and it's so nice to have the company especially when I wake up in the morning! :)

a movie for a thursday evening

Revolutionary Road

Another good film choice!
April is the repressed wife, confined by society and the expectations of those around her. April is represented as a conventional housewife yet makes a stark contrast to her friend Milly, who is content with her life and does not look further that the end of her white picket fence for satisfaction. Unlike Milly, April wishes to break free from suburbia which is a place she had never imagined she would end up. Her eventual plan to go to Paris is thwarted by her husband who receives a promotion at work which he can't resist. This situation also represents a certain restriction of the male protagonist as he too is unable to truly disentangle himself from his situation even though he is working in a job he doesn't like. The deconstruction of the American dream and the inability to escape their misery is what made this film ultimately depressing.

this is me

smile :-)

I'm reading Tom's midnight garden, which I'm not convinced I read when I was small, but I definitely listened to the tapes! (reading this for my children's literature module)
It's nice to read an easy book that doesn't require too much thought, just remembering what it is like to read a book with the imagination of a child...

Just off to Charlotte's in a min to watch a
film. The new semester hasn't quite kicked in yet, so there's not too much to do! I really need to do well this semester...and I hope I will. If I can get myself motivated to start!

I really hope this happens. and i think it will. so yay!

Bath

I am back in Bath. funny how a city can be so familiar, yet there are things about it I still don't know. still, the best way to get to know somewhere is by living there. and I have seen a bit. went for a wander into town today which was nice :) sadly shopping was abit stressful, and B made me feel like a hefferlump trying on things next to her -- so much so that where a girly shopping trip would usually be fun cus u can try thing on and laugh with each other, I felt I had to hide in the changing rooms for fear of judgement and looking dumpy, or pale and uninteresting, as mother would say.
It is nice to be back, although I was enjoying being at home quite a lot, and it was nice to keep mum company -- I'm pretty sure she must get quite lonely when she's there by herself..and the rest of the time she has boys and phoebes as she likes to say! she needs the girls!

Sadly I've come back to find I have lots of organising for the new semester. So far I've bought a new pad. I would say I'd do organising tomorrow, but I have horse riding, which I am more than a little scared about! I quite wanted to go out tonight, but so far everyone has blown it off with the excuse of no money, which I know is a small lie (having used it myself) and is actually a code for 'I can't really b bothered& therefore cant be bothered to put up the funds for it.' sigh. oh well, if I don't go I suppose that's another hangover avoided and money saved for a trip or something. still, I begin to think the slightly depressing thought that there's only a certain number of monday nights left in our uni carrer in which we will be able to stick to the floors of XL... well, we shall see!
finally, I have the ultimatley depressing sinking feeling I get when I know that I have Co-op to look forward to tonight! at least I have quit sunday's. man they were bad.
I should end this positively, but I will not. It's raining, and I'm cold!

latest read

I'm reading this for my 'Gender and contemporary writing' module and really enjoying it. It looks at the concept of the female body and considers the nature of 'myth telling'. It is about the results of envy on a plain woman who seeks to take revenge on her husband who leaves her for a young and beautiful woman. I've found it very funny and definitely recommend it......
