Alice's challenge: to 'write a note with 16 facts, habits or goals about you'
here goes:
here goes:
1) I'm obsessed with reading, i love it, it's my luxury. Despite being ultimately disappointed when I turn out to be reading a 'crappy' book, I can't stop til' it's finished. Mum used to actually tell Alice and I off for reading too much: 'Get your noses out of those books and come and help me!' she used to say! I still read 'fun' books instead of uni books, and I assume i will continue to sneak a read whenever possible throughout my life!
2) I absolutely love the movies, especially going to the cinema, I can't get enough. Tim and I used to go every games afternoon, and now he works at the odeon it's even better - we can go for free! There's no denying though that a little arty cinema is a much better experience than the odeon - but ultimately it's the films I go to watch and if it's free, it's free, and therefore means we don't mind seeing a film that isn't ultimately fabulous. I have kept nearly every cinema stub.
3) Going out for coffee is another luxury, but one I'm always willing to do... Starbucks in America is half the price of England and was our little addiction when we were travelling. Wonderful.
4) I really enjoy shopping - for clothes especially, but I also love digging round in a charity shop for some bargain book buys - bought 3 yesterday for 75p! (antique book stores are also a fave, but are Much More Expensive). I like shopping with friends, but also on my own. Supermarkets are a favourite, especially with Tim!
5) I'm a 'company' type of person, even if it's just silent company I prefer it... the voice in my head gets a little annoying when there's not one else around.
6) I have issues with 'letting people down'. To the extent that I can't even quit my detested job at the co-op. Sometimes I end up double booking myself and then agonise over how to resolve the situation.
7) I love road trips... when someone else is driving. (I absolutely loath driving long distances on my own - I fall asleep and as I said before-I need the company). Our road trip in America was one of the best times of my life.
8) One day Sarah and I are going to Road Trip England's National Trust places. This will happen when we're quite old I think. I immensely look forward to it!
9) Travelling. - My and Tim's way- the low-key way; exploring at our own pace and seeing things that we are both interested in, not in the full blown 'we must see, do and drink everything' way. Much of our travelling involves going from food place to food place (Tim is always hungry!)
10) I always wish I loved exercise more. I used to love swimming and ballet, but now I don't do anthing, and this bothers me a little. I know I should just do something about it, but sometimes there just doesn't seem to be the time......
11) I really want to live abroad, but sometimes the thought scares me too much. And I don't know how to go about sorting it all out.
12) I love birthdays - both mine and other people's. Giving gifts is fantastic. I alwats wish I had more money so that I could always buy a really great present.
13) (see 12) I love giving gifts..if it involves posting them, so much the better (I love the excitement of sending things in the post and knowing someone will be pleased to receive it). Getting post back is excellent too! Never let the post office go under!
14) I really hate unkindness/ unfairness/ mean people. I hope I'm a nice person, sometimes I think I could do with being a little less bitchy (?) but generally it's other people's thoughtlessness that makes me say things. 'Treat others as you wish to be treated' is a good motto.
-Manners are free.
15) Sarah and I had (have?) a little plan -- to live in a little farm cottage and bake and make things all day...probably fit a few books in there too?! We have talked about this for as long as I can remember.... will it ever happen?!
16) my family, friends and tim are really important to me. <3
